Walk Safely to School Day

National Walk Safely to School Day is an annual community event where all primary school children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school.

In light of the Federal Government directives regarding COVID-19, the Pedestrian Council of Australia advises that Walk Safely to School Day has been postponed

Asia Pacific Forum on Intelligent Transport Systems

The Intelligent Transport Systems Asia Pacific Forum 2020 is a four day event with the theme of ‘Innovation Creating Liveable Communities’.

Originally scheduled to occur from 25-28 May in Brisbane, Queensland the forum has been postponed due to COVID-19.

Fatality Free Friday

Fatality Free Friday is a national community based road safety program run by the Australian Road Safety Foundation. A national day of action is scheduled for 29 May 2020.

June

Transport and Infrastructure Council Meeting

The Transport and Infrastructure Council brings together Commonwealth, State, Territory and New Zealand Ministers with responsibility for transport and infrastructure issues, as well as the Australian Local Government Association.

The meeting is scheduled to occur on 5 June 2020 on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

National Traffic and Transport Conference

The Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management has announced the 2020 National Traffic and Transport conference has been postponed to 27-30 July 2021 in Brisbane, Queensland.

Rural Road Safety Month

Rural Road Safety Month is a national awareness campaign targeting regional and rural road safety, run by the Australian Road Safety Foundation.

National Roads and Traffic Expo

The National Roads and Traffic Expo is a two day trade show to be held in Sydney, NSW on 1-2 September 2020.

Amy's Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo 2020

Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo is a cycling event held in memory of Amy Gillett and conducted by the Amy Gillett Foundation. The event is to be held in Lorne, Victoria on 12-13 September 2020.

Smart Pavements Now Masterclass

The Australian Road Research Board’s ‘Smart Pavements Now’ is a three-day Masterclass Event aimed at the pavement industry, to be held in Melbourne, Victoria from 18 -20 September 2020.

2020 Australasian Road Safety Conference

The Australasian College of Road Safety, Austroads, and the ARSC2020 Organising Committee advise they are closely monitoring the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, with a particular focus on potential impact to the 2020 Australasian Road Safety Conference to be held in September in Melbourne. More information to follow.

National Road Safety Week

National Road Safety Week honours those we have lost and pledges to make the roads safer for everyone.

Due to Covid-19, Safer Australian Roads and Highways Group announced National Road Safety Week has been re-scheduled from May, and will now occur 9 - 15 November 2020.

Shine a Light on Road Safety

Shine a Light on Road Safety is a national community campaign to highlight the services provided by Road Trauma Support Services Victoria and how we can all play a part in road safety. The campaign is part of National Road Safety Week.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year – to remember the many millions killed and injured on the world’s roads, together with their families, friends and many others who are also affected.

ALGA National Local Roads and Transport Congress 2020

The Australian Local Government Association National Local Roads and Transport Congress will be held in Wrest Point, Tasmania on 17- 18 November 2020.

Safer Roads 2020

The Safer Roads 2020 International Conference is a triennial event for roadway safety professionals and transportation officials from around the world.

The conference has been rescheduled from May to November 2020 and will be held in Richmond, Virginia USA.

14th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion (Safety 2020)

The 14th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion 2020 (Safety 2020), originally planned to be held in Adelaide from 8–11 November 2020, has been postponed to 27–30 November 2022. Options are being explored for a virtual pre-conference global event in to be held in early 2021.
